2. Organizer
The Cabrillo Beach Enduro is organized by the City of Los Angeles, Department of Recreation and Parks and by the Cabrillo Beach Boosters and their volunteers.
Any and all proceeds from the Event benefit the youth and recreation programs at Cabrillo Beach.

Heat no. 1: Womens 12 ft and under

Note: 12 ft and under represents our recreational/novice class
Rules:
Race participants will be grouped into 4 different heats depending on board length and gender. The race will start on the beach Le Mans Style, around the Point Fermin Bell Buoy, back to the beach, and across the finish line by the registration booth.
Le Mans Start Procedures:
An air horn on the beach will signal the preparation for the race with a series of short blasts to alert the racers that the 1 minute count down will start at the next long blast and the raising of the starting flag. The PA announcer will call the appropriate classes to the starting line on the beach.
Awards
The top racer in each class will be presented a first place trophy in that class.
Other prizes will be presented to the first 3 to 5 places in each class.
Windsurfing Sailing Instructions
Classes
Men:
Sport: any novice racer, including racers who participated in the 2010 Enduro race and were not among the top three (3) finishers
Open: has raced before note the top three (3) finishers in the 2010 novice class will be placed automatically in this class
Masters: 45 years of age and over on the race day
Junior: 17 years of age and under on the race day
Women:
Sport and Open: will race as one class but will be scored separately if each class enrolment meets a minimum of five (5) in each class

Starting Procedures:
Sport, Masters , Women and Junior: These classes will start from the beach with a 1 minute count down which will be started after a series of short horn blasts followed by a long horn blast and the raising of a flag by a Race Committee member stationed up wind of the starting area at the waters edge. The PA announcer will also announce the time left at 15 second intervals and count down the last 10 seconds.
Open : This group will line up at the beach starting area and after a series of short horn blast will here a long horn blast that will start a 3 minute count down to the start of their race. They are free to leave the beach anytime after the start of the 3 minute count down. The Race Committee on the Committee boat will hoist a Red flag at the start of the 3 minute sequence and will replace it with a yellow flag @ 2 minutes and a green flag @ 1 minute. The green flag will come down and a horn blast will signal the start of this race.
Race duration and finishing: Each race will last 10 minutes and at the end of the 10 minutes the RC on the Committee boat will signal the end of the race with a horn blast and the raising of a white flag. At that point all racers should finish the lap that they are on and head immediately to the beach in order to clear the area for the next race. Do not leave your kits in the starting area.
Sail Number: Each racer is responsible to affix their assigned sail number to their sail. This should be done in at least 12 high numbers in the top 1/3 of the sail on the starboard side of the sail.
Equipment: There are no equipment restrictions. The Enduro format allows freeride equipment to be competitive with race equipment.
We recommend that Open racers in particular have a count down watch to help track the race start and finish.

4. Television and Media
Racers automatically grant the Organizer and the City of Los Angeles permission to photograph and or videotape them during the period of the Event. The sole purpose of these photographs and or videos is for publication, advertisement, and exhibition of services offered by the Organizer and the City of Los Angeles.
5. Liability
Racers agree to relieve the Organizer, the City of Los Angeles, Department of Recreation and Parks and its officer agents, employees and volunteers and the Cabrillo Beach Boosters from any liabilty in connection with any injury to them in this race. Racers understand that the City carries no insurance. Racers also understand that there will be no refunds, transfers or make-up days.
6. Sail Numbers
All racers will be assigned sail numbers by the Race Director. If you have a U.S. or International registered sail number, you must register this number on the Registration Form. Any changes must be made in writing to the Race Committee before the start of the competion. Racers will be responsible for obtaining their race number on race day and placing that number on their own sails; sail numbers must be at least 12 inches high, made in contrasting color to the sail body and placed above the boom. Tape will be available on-site on the day of the
Event to assist in this process.
7. Registration Fees
Advance registration is $30 for SUP, $30 for Windsurf, or $50 for both events. Pre-registration will close as of August 3rd. Late registration after August 3rd for either event is $40. Registration fees cover all race logistics and other related expenses. Each race participant will receive a T-Shirt and awards ceremony to be held on Race Day.
